Global warming caused by man-made carbon emissions is widely
considered the most damaging cause of environmental destruction.
Worldwide protocols now in place de昀椀ne how companies should
measure their carbon footprints; these are divided into three scopes.
Scope 1
Scope 2
Scope 3
These are direct emissions from
the use of energy by a business.
These are the indirect
emissions from the generation
of purchased energy, like
electricity.
These are all other indirect
emissions resulting from
the supply of materials, the
manufacture of goods and their
distribution/delivery to the
customer.
In our 昀椀rst carbon report we decided
to count our group of companies as one.
This remains the same for our 2023 report.

All three businesses operate from Court of Noke, a Grade II* listed
house on a working farm in Herefordshire. The energy use of this
house is included in our emissions 昀椀gures.
In 2022, we made the decision to measure the carbon footprint
of the farm using the Farm Carbon Toolkit, and we will continue
to measure the farm’s footprint this way.
